Redmi Note 11 Review

A smartphone is no longer a luxury - it is a basic need, especially if your budget is between 10-15K. However, we are paying 1800 Rs taxes for a 12K smartphone. It's time to reconsider.

In this blog I will share my user experience with Redmi Note 11 - my order was delivered on 11th Jun 2022. I have been using this phone for 3 days. So let's start...

N.B. I purchased Samsung M21 (2021 edition) but I returned it. So I will compare these two phones Redmi Note 11 VS Samsung M21 as well. one thing, Samsung was also good, realizing after using Redmi Note 11. Keep reading for more details.

Design & Look of Redmi Note 11

No doubt, Redmi Note 11 comes with an aesthetic look. Personally, I like the Horizon Blue one. I purchased that one too. However, the other two - Space black and stardust white is also a good choice. Go as per your taste.

The back is quite shiny and it changes color when you move the phone - no there is no such real color-changing button actually it is the result of the reflection of light.

The camera setup is also good but the problem is that it is slightly higher than the mobile body. So extra care is needed when you keep the phone on the surface. Or else the camera glass can be cracked as there is no such Gorilla Glass protection like the display.

Other things are okay, speakers are situated above and below the edges of the phone - so no issue while you keep the mobile on a table or bedsheet. The sound comes out perfectly.   And as Redmi Note 11 has stereo speakers sound quality is awesome.

Battery & Charging Time

Redmi Note 11 comes with a 5000 mAh battery. Samsung Galaxy M21 (2021 edition) offered a 6000 mAh battery. But the display time offered by both the phones is quite the same. There is no significant difference.

While using Samsung M21 I didn't know about the "Digital Wellbeing" feature but I checked those metrics on Redmi Note 11. From there I calculated that 100% battery can offer you 7-8 hours of display time. Now it will vary as per your usage pattern - which apps you are using, network conditions, etc.

Talking about charging time, Redmi Note 11 takes around 1 Hour and 10-15 minutes to make the battery 0-100%.  However, in the case of the Samsung M21, the charging time was more than 2 hours 30 minutes to make the battery full.

The reason may be Samsung offered only an 18 Watts charger. But Redmi Note 11 comes with a 33W fast charger.

I think, If I use it as a common user, Redmi Note 11 will serve me the entire day in a single charge. However, I do lot of online searches, watch YouTube videos and other social media applications are also there - so it is not serving me more than 7 hours in a single charge.

User Experience with Redmi Note 11

First talk about the camera. The Samsung M21 camera was fantastic, Redmi Note 11 camera is not that good, though it has a 50MP main camera lens along with a 13 MP front camera.

Samsung M 21 came with a 48MP front camera and a 20MP back camera. I was very happy with the camera quality of Samsung. But I saw some YouTube videos where many were saying (commented others as well) that Samsung M21 will face a Motherboard problem. So I thought, it's better to return that - and will purchase another Samsung when my budget will become higher.

Overall experience with Samsung M21 and Redmi Note 11 is quite satisfactory.

Talking about the heating issue, both the phone heats a bit during charging, continuous browsing, and especially while I write blogs on my laptop and take internet through a mobile hotspot. But as per many Tech review channels that are common -- every smartphone will heat up like that.

Should You Buy Redmi Note 11

I think this is a very good phone at this price range. But when I compare Redmi Note 11 with Samsung M21 I feel the Redmi Note 11 price is slightly higher.

Samsung M21 offers you a 4K video recording feature at just 12K. Whereas Redmi will cost you 12499 to 13499 Rs for the base variant ( 4Gb 64 Gb).

But the Samsung M21 lacks in its Processor - Exynos 9611

However, the 6nm Processor of the Redmi Note 11 is not an outstanding feature too. I don't feel any performance difference between Samsung M21 and Redmi Note 11.

The point is that, if you are looking for a budget phone for normal use you can go for both the phone. Samsung offers you better features at a lesser price than Redmi Note 11. But the only risk factor is that if after one year the motherboard fails you need to spend 7-8K to replace it.

My first phone was Redmi 5A. With that phone, I never faced any significant hanging issue or any other issue till 3 years. Recently the battery is draining fast of that Redmi 5a phone and heating issue is there so I changed it. But in the 3 years of service, I never faced any issue with Redmi 5a - that can be one reason that this time I also bought Redmi. Though firstly I bought Samsung M21 2021 edition from Amazon, but returned it and bought Redmi Note 11 from Flipkart. Now I can't return anymore - no need to do so as well.
